The United States Fistball Association (USFA) is entering a new chapter as several leadership changes take effect ahead of an important period of growth for the sport in the United States.
After serving as President, Kyle Ejsmont has stepped down from the role and will continue supporting the organization as a Board Member At Large. Joining him in a transition to a Board Member At Large position is former Secretary John Moorhead, who has also stepped away from his secretary role after several years of service to the organization.
Taking over as President is longtime fistball veteran Mat Ogin. A respected figure in the American fistball community, Ogin discovered fistball through a YouTube video in 2009. Since then, he has represented the United States in countless World Championships and the 2022 World Games. Ogin brings years of elite playing experience and a deep understanding of both the sport’s traditional club roots and the demands of modern high-performance athletics.
His vision for the future is clear: expanding fistball beyond its current footprint in the United States by establishing stronger professional structures and continuing to push athletic excellence across all levels of the sport.
Joining the executive leadership team as Secretary is Daniel Simon-Slowinski, one of the newer and younger voices helping shape the future of USA Fistball.
Simon-Slowinski was introduced to fistball during the 2018 U18 World Championship in New Jersey. What began as a new experience quickly turned into a lasting passion for the sport.
Six years later, he has represented Team USA on some of the sport’s biggest stages, including the 2023 Men’s World Championship in Germany and the 2024 Pan American Championship in Argentina. He remains an active player in the national program and is working toward earning a place on the squad competing at this year’s Pan American Championships in Chile.
The USFA would like to thank Kyle Ejsmont and John Moorhead for their leadership, dedication, and continued commitment to the organization. Their work has helped strengthen the foundation of the sport in the United States and positioned USA Fistball for future growth.
The USFA board includes Jonathon Borgognoni (Sergeant at Arms), Kyle Ejsmont (Member-at-Large), Steve Kucera (Treasurer), Vanessa Marques (Member-at-Large), John Moorhead (Member-at-Large), Mat Ogin (President), Daniel Simon-Slowinski (Secretary), Jack Stern (Vice President), and Allison Vaughan (Member-at-Large).
As the organization moves forward under new leadership, the focus remains on expanding participation, strengthening competition opportunities, and continuing to elevate USA Fistball on the international stage.
