Germantown, WI – The United States Women’s National Fistball Team is set to make their second World Championship appearance, ten years after their first. This time, the United States women are headed to Montecarlo, Argentina, aiming to improve on their 8th place finish in Dresden, Germany, a decade ago.
The Women’s National Team will be led by former international player Emma Dollase (Rockaway, NJ), who was hired in January 2024 to take over the women’s program. Since January, the team has been practicing consistently, with over twenty athletes in their player pool throughout the selection process.
USFA President Kyle Ejsmont expressed his excitement about the team’s progress, stating, “We are incredibly proud to be sending our women’s national team back into international competition. Our athletes have been working tremendously hard, and I can't wait to see what they can do.”
Head Coach Emma Dollase has announced a nine-athlete roster that features both newcomers and experienced players, including those who participated in the World Games two years ago.
Amber Rauh (Scotch Plains, NJ) will take on a new role as team captain. Rauh has been one of the most active U.S. fistballers over the past several years and brings experience, passion, and enthusiasm to the team. She will be joined by Amanda Stanton (Hackettstown, NJ), Lindsey Stern (West Bend, WI), and Allison Vaughn (Doylestown, PA), all of whom bring international experience from the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, AL.
Dollase rounds out her roster with fresh talent, including Alisha Singh (Ledgewood, NJ), Danielle Pereira (Fords, NJ), Devon Herold (Maple Glen, PA), Vanessa Marques (Long Island, NY), and Lea Mathew (Paramus, NJ).
Eleven nations will compete in Montecarlo, Argentina, for the tenth edition of the IFA Women’s World Championship. The Pan-American Fistball Association will send five countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, United States, Colombia), while the European Fistball Association has three representatives (Austria, Germany, Switzerland). Oceania will send two teams (Australia and New Zealand), and Namibia will represent Africa.
The IFA Women’s Fistball World Championship will begin with group stage matches on Thursday, November 7th, and Friday, November 8th. The quarterfinal and semifinal stages will take place on Saturday, November 9th, with the tournament concluding with finals and placement matches on Sunday, November 10th. Opening round times and fixtures will be posted as soon as they are released by the IFA.
