USFA Welcomes New President, Secretary for 2024

As 2023 draws to a close, the US Fistball Association members voted on new positions on the Board of Directors. As per the bylaws, the positions of President and Secretary, which serve two-year terms, were both up for re-election at the end of 2023. Sitting President Ron Jesswein was nominated for re-election, however long-serving Secretary Judy Henrichs decided not to run for another term.

Judy has been the Secretary for the USFA since its inception in 2007. She has been instrumental not only in her support of the day-to-day operations of the USFA, but also assisted with countless international and domestic fistball events. As part of her duties as Secretary, Judy has recorded and filed every one of the USFA's meeting minutes since the beginning. Judy has been a loyal servant to the sport for 16 years, and we thank her for all that she has done for the sport both here in the states and abroad.

Of the 49 current members of the USFA, there were 30 votes received in this year's election. After the votes were tallied, the USFA would have a new President and Secretary. Kyle Ejsmont will begin 2024 as President, and John Moorhead will take the role of Secretary.

Ron Jesswein, who took over as President for Bob Feid in 2021, previously served as the Vice President. He also served as the Head Coach for the Men's National team in 2019 in Winterthur, and was the Assistant Coach for several international tournaments under Gastao Englert. Ron was also on the first ever US National Team at the 1999 World Championship in Olten, Switzerland. We thank Ron for his many years of dedicated service to fistball in the USA and look forward to his future contributions as well.

Taking over for Ron Jesswein is Kyle Ejsmont. Kyle has been a player at Phoenix Sport Club (Feasterville, PA) since 2012. Since then, he has played for TuS Raiffeisen Kremsmünster in Austria and Duque de Caxias in Brazil. Kyle was also on the US National Team in 2019 in Winterthur, Switzerland, and has served as the USFA Director of Communications since 2021. He has also been a part of the media team with the International Fistball Association (IFA) since the World Games in Alabama in 2022, serving as the go-to commentator for the last 3 major international tournaments.

"It is a tremendous honor and privilege to be voted into such an important position. This sport has opened so many doors for me over the years, and it is my desire to open those same doors to countless others moving forward. With the help of the Board, our members, sponsors, and numerous volunteers, I'm confident we can usher in a new era of players all across the USA." - Kyle Ejsmont

Also entering into a new role on the USFA Board of Directors is John Moorhead of Baltimore, MD. Moorhead was first introduced to fistball at the 2017 World Games in Poland, where he was a member of the US Flag Football team. Since then, he has been a loyal steward of the USFA, serving as a social media manager since 2022. On top of his posts on all of the USFA social media accounts, Moorhead wrote countless match recaps and press releases on our website. He also was an invaluable member of the operations team at the 2022 World Games in Alabama, assisting the men's and women's national teams with anything they needed to perform at a high level. We welcome John into his new role as USFA Secretary and look forward to what he can accomplish there.

The USFA thanks all of its members, players, fans, and sponsors for all of their support over the years. We wish you all a happy and prosperous 2024!
