USA Fistball 2025: A Year of Growth and Global Experience

Germantown, WI — The 2025 season marked another important step forward for USA Fistball, highlighted by international competition, strong domestic tournaments, and continued growth across both the men’s and women’s games. From summer club play in New Jersey to the world stage in Chengdu, China, U.S. fistball athletes showcased resilience, development, and an ever-rising level of competition.

The 2025 U.S. fistball calendar kicked off in June at the Swim and Sport Club (SSC) in Flanders, New Jersey, which hosted the first of its two summer tournaments. Teams from SSC, Phoenix Sports Club, Ice Boys, South Jersey FC, and the U.S. Women’s National Team came together for a weekend focused on preparation, collaboration, and competitive play.

In July, South Jersey FC represented the United States on the international stage, traveling to Austria to compete in the IFA World Tour Finals against the top club teams in the world. The tournament provided invaluable international experience for U.S. fistball athletes.

Competing in Austria allowed South Jersey’s players to measure themselves against the world’s best while gaining exposure to the speed, tactics, and physicality of high-level international fistball. That experience is expected to pay dividends as many of the athletes continue preparations for the 2026 Pan American Games and the 2027 IFA Men’s World Championship.

In August, the United States Women’s National Fistball Team competed at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China, the premier fistball event on the international calendar. Competing in the Silver Group alongside Argentina, Chile, and New Zealand, the Americans faced tough matches throughout group play, showing moments of competitiveness despite falling in straight sets in all three contests.

In the consolation rounds, the U.S. delivered some of its strongest performances of the tournament, earning set wins against both Chile and Argentina while pushing each match to four sets. Although the Americans ultimately finished eighth, the team demonstrated resilience and improvement as the event progressed, gaining valuable international experience for a roster blending veteran leadership with emerging talent on the world stage.

In September, the 2025 U.S. Fistball Nationals brought together the nation’s top clubs in Hackettstown, New Jersey, for a weekend of high-level competition and community celebration, held alongside the town’s annual Oktoberfest. The event showcased the continued growth of fistball in the United States and the rising level of play across both the men’s and women’s divisions.

In the men’s tournament, South Jersey FC captured the national title with a 3–1 victory over the previously undefeated Wisconsin Fistball Association in the championship match, while Phoenix Sports Club and the Ice Boys rounded out the top four. On the women’s side, South Jersey FC continued its dominance by securing its second straight national championship, with Pink Power (Swim and Sport Club/Phoenix FC) finishing second. With their victories, both South Jersey FC men’s and women’s teams qualified for the 2026 Pan American Club Championships, where they will represent the United States on the international stage.

The 2025 season underscored the continued growth of U.S. fistball—from increased parity across clubs and strong regional rivalries to consistent livestreaming and larger event audiences. Paired with Hackettstown Oktoberfest, the 2025 Nationals marked the most successful national championship event to date.

As USA Fistball heads into its winter break, the organization would like to wish all athletes, coaches, support staff, fans, and supporters a happy and safe holiday season. Preparations are already underway for an exciting slate of tournaments beginning in Spring 2026.
