USF Austria 2011

The United States Fistball Association (USFA) has named the 10 individuals to the U.S. Men’s Fistball team. The national team will compete at the 2011 Fistball World Championship in Austria between August 5 – 11. The team is made up of select individuals from three regions across the country – greater areas of Milwaukee, Newark and Philadelphia.

Since the 2007 World Championships in Germany, the USFA has been recruiting players and promoting the sport of fistball. Players were chosen after being evaluated at several tournaments in 2010 and ongoing tryouts.

The U.S. coaching staff features a combined 122 years of fistball experience. The coaching staff is led by head coach and former U.S. player Ron Jesswein. Jesswein competed in the 1999 World Championships and is currently a first-grade teacher with the Mequon-Thiensville school district in southeastern Wisconsin.

Member of the 2007 U.S. team and serving as assistant coach is Nate Erdman. USFA President and member of the 1999 U.S. team, Jim Blank, will serve as the international delegate while former U.S. team member and 2007 head coach, Reinhard Kindler, will serve as the team trainer.
